In this role, youāre expected to:
- Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities, of Citi, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including the related compliance, financial reporting, planning and controversy processes.
- Contributes to the planning, accounting, filing and the reporting of tax liability of the company.
- Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing and related requirements at all levels of jurisdiction.
- May participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations.
- Directs small to medium-sized Finance operational/administrative team(s) of clerical or junior professional employees.
- Advises on procedures and concepts in technical/subject area and integrates with others in accomplishing the goals of the sub function/ job family.
- Improves process efficiencies in harmony of unit focus.
- Uses conceptual/ practical grounding in applying policies to the business.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned
Additional Job Description:
- Control Compliance Testing: āTaxĀ InformationĀ Reportingā (TIR) consists of 7 Global Operational Teams that are governed by 400+ Local and Common Controls. The āMCA Support Teamā are tasked with ensuring adherence to āMinimum Control Design Requirementsā and āControl Design Adequacy & Operating Effectivenessā.Ā Uploading in-scope, month-end testing results into the Citi Enterprise Risk Management System and evidence retention (Internal Audit Readiness)
- Risk Mitigation (Red Flag Reviews):Ā Ability to review and assess large volumes of data to identify and justify any inconsistencies / material deviations.
- Standardisation & Consolidation:Ā Hosting consultations with āSubject Matter Expertsā to gain a consensus on standardised Operational Checklist on. Identify opportunities to consolidate and rationalise our Control environment so that it continues to operates effectively and efficiently while adhering to the underlying, polices, laws, rules and regulations.
- MCA Change Control:Ā Management of āMaster Control Assessmentā obligations by preparing and facilitating āControl Ownerā attestations.
- Issue & escalation Management:Ā Attend project calls to understand obligations, priorities and deliverables, then clearly articulate and assign pre-defined tasks to team members. Creative problem solving skills will be required to identify potential solutions and determine and implement a collectively agreed corrective action plan.
- People Development & Capacity Management:Ā Ensure team members are suitably trained and versed on āCommon Controlā testing obligations. Including training, āStandardĀ OperatingĀ Procedureā, SME Reviews. Ensure that the workload is distributed evenly and that there is a clear, consistent approach.
- Peripheral Support (āCommon Controlsā):Ā Support and ensure adherence to Citi wide Common Control policy obligations.Ā IncludingĀ āContinuity of Businessā, āRegulations Managementā, āData Qualityā, āThird Party Managementā (Intercompany Service Agreements), āEnd-User Computingā, āRecords Managementā, āPrivacy Managementā, āMandatory Absenceā, āInformation Securityā etc.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firmās reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
