Qualifications & Skills Required:-

Minimum qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or PhD program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related technical field.
• Experience in one area of Computer Science (e.g., Large Language Models, Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Software Engineering, etc.).
• Experience programming in one or more of the following: C/C++, Java, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after completion of the internship.
• Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time, or at a lab.
• Experience contributing to research communities or efforts, including publishing papers in conferences or journals.
• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, MATLAB, Go, Python, TF, PAX/JAX etc.).
• Ability to design and execute on research agendas.

Roles & Responsibilities:-

Research Interns work closely with Research Scientists and Software Engineers to discover, invent, and build at scale. Ideas may come from internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes.

• Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.
• Research, conceive, and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google’s product offering.
• Contribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning, and search technologies.

Google Summer Internships start in May/June 2024 and are 10-12 weeks in duration.
