Required Qualification :-Candidates should be currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. degree from an accredited university in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Urban Planning, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
Skills and Competencies
- Hands-on IT skills, in particular knowledge of R, Python, or SQL
- Interest in the social and cultural contexts that guide growth and development across geographies
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to investigate and solve problems
- Ability to work in a team
- Interest in Catastrophic Risk Modelling and Property Insurance Industry
- Knowledge of building construction practices across different countries would be an advantage
- Basic understanding of AI concepts (Generative AI tools and Agentic AI systems), with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency leveraging these technologies for research, analysis, or workflow optimization. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Moody’s Exposure Models as part of the Exposure Development team based in India.
- Support the research, design, and implementation of exposure modeling methodologies and solutions.
- Conduct primary research and analysis to support model development and validation activities.
- Develop an understanding of the technologies, analytical techniques, and methodologies used in Moody’s products and solutions.
- Research, evaluate, and analyze datasets required for exposure development across global geographies, leveraging public and open-source data where available.
- Assist in the development of valuation models for a broad range of buildings and infrastructure assets.
- Research and analyze the characteristics of property insurance markets and exposure landscapes across different regions worldwide.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the continuous enhancement of exposure data, analytics, and modeling capabilities.
- Document research findings, methodologies, and analytical insights to support model development and product innovation.
