What is TCS NQT?

TCS National Qualifier Test(TCS NQT) is designed to test the skills and bring on board the best of all candidates. TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) is a PAN India Drive beginning with an Online Test followed by a Personal Interview which will have three rounds – Technical, Managerial & HR. Post the assessment, interview date and location will be communicated to candidates individually via email. Students do not have to pay any cost to register for TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT).

TCS NQT: TCS Ninja & TCS Digital:-

TCS NQT is divided into two Profile exams as per the college of a candidate. These are:

  • TCS Ninja
  • TCS Digital

Syllabus for TCS NQT:-

1. Quantitative Aptitude

This section contains 15 aptitude questions which you have to solve in 30 minutes. The type of questions will be – MCQs and Fill in the blanks.This section had a negative marking of 2 for standard questions and 3 for advanced questions.

2. Programming Logic

This section consists of 10 questions which you have to solve in 20 minutes. It also consists of standard and advanced sections. The standard section has 7 questions and the advanced section has 3 questions. The marking scheme is the same as the Quantitative ability section.

  • Programming Concepts:Iteration, recursion, procedural vs OOP.
  • C Language:Call by value/reference, basic and derived data types, storage classes, scope, and visibility, basics of pointers, basic header files, library functions, branching and looping, command line arguments, user-defined functions.
  • Algorithms:Basic search algorithms and basic sort algorithms.(tree traversal, dynamic programming, etc)
  • Data Structures:Array, Stack, Queue, List(tree, hash table, etc)

3. Coding

This coding section consists of 1 question, which is to be solved in 30 minutes. An inbuilt compiler will be provided to solve their questions in any one of the programming languages C/C++/Java/Perl/Python. You can compile the code as many times as you wish.

4. English

This section consists of 15 questions to be answered in 10 minutes.A small passage will be given with blanks in between the passage. You have to answer each blank by selecting a suitable option provided.This section contains no negative marking.

  • Articles, prepositions
  • Close passage
  • Direct & Indirect speech
  • Para Jumbles

The TCS NQT test would be of 90 minutes in duration and will have questions from the 4 different categories:

The TCS NQT test would be of 90 minutes in duration and will have questions from the 4 different categories:

Eligibility Criteria for TCS NQT: TCS Ninja

  • Qualification: Full Time Graduates from B.E/ B.Tech/ M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Sc/ MCA.
  • Eligible from UG/PG: All Engineering Streams.
  • Eligible from M.Sc: Computer Science & Information Technology and related streams
  • Percentage: 60% throughout Academics in X/ XII/ UG/ Diploma/ PG
  • Experience: Not more than 3 months.
  • Backlog: 1 Active Backlog at the time of appearing for the Exam
  • Gap: Overall Gap in Academic Career not to exceed 2 years

Eligibility Criteria for TCS NQT: TCS Digital

TCS Digital Eligibility Criteria is only disclosed to the Placement Cell of TCS Premium Colleges. one can participate in TCS NQT for TCS Digital profile(Salary: 7 lakh per annum) only if they are student of one of the TCS Premium College

Important Instructions for TCS NQT:

  1. The test will flow as per the order of appearance mentioned in the above table. Once you move from one group to another group, you cannot go back to the earlier group.
  2. The countdown timer displayed on the test screen will indicate the time remaining to complete each group. The timer will start the moment the first question appears on the screen.
  3. The test duration for each group is fixed. The left over time will not be carried forward to the remaining groups.
  4. Click SUBMIT at the end of every group to move to the next group.
