Job Description–

Undertake a development role, contributing to project work, developing design and engineering skills and gaining appreciation of Arcadis service lines and businesses

 Learn how to apply theoretical skills from their education within an office and project environment

Take responsibility for your own safety and understand Arcadis Health and Safety Principles

 Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioural framework

 Work as a project resource to support the successful delivery of specific outputs individually or as part of a team

 Build analytical and design skills as well as developing communication skills including technical writing

 Deliver work that meets Arcadis quality requirements

 Contribute to designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and final working drawings and input to the production of technical reports – under the supervision of an experienced engineer

 Improve understanding of the design of individual elements of a project and how these ultimately interface with the overall project

 Undertake document management including drawing registers as required

 Check own work ahead of production checking  Check and verify that quality requirements have been achieved in accordance with Arcadis systems

 Collect data under the close supervision of an experienced engineer

 Successfully complete assigned technical tasks within allotted time frames

 Commit to receiving on the job technical training by performing tasks, which are under the direct supervision of more experienced staff within well defined limits

 Commit to and take responsibility for achieving goals 

 Attend appropriate conferences and events Participate in Arcadis knowledge sharing activities  Prepare a development plan with your line manager during the Professional Development Review process and take ownership of achieving the goals identified within this plan

 Comply with Arcadis General Business Principles and Specific Anti Corruption Standards

Have developed an initial understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis and the industry sector 

 Developing awareness of the contribution that Arcadis GEC teams make in the overall delivery of tasks and the projects within Arcadis

 Have the ability to communicate internally and with staff in other Arcadis regions through written and verbal means

 Developing an awareness of Arcadis management system requirements

 Developing an awareness of safe design processes which consider safety during construction, operation and decomissioning through the use of hazard identification and risk assessment during design development

 Possess an awareness of Health and Safety regulations and guidelines

 Have an understanding of design principles and can build ability to apply them in practice

 Possess skills to carry out effective research, data gathering and analysis 

 Proficiency in relevant desktop applications including use of computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems

 Have developed effective time management skills

 Ability to work to agreed upon budget and schedule under close supervision

 Have a developing awareness of sustainable development principles
